چکیده

Trace metals play an important role in the regulation of primary productivity and phytoplankton community composition. Metal species directly affects biogeochemical cycling processes, transport, fate, bioavailability toxicity trace metals. Therefore, developing powerful methods for metal speciation analysis is very useful research a range fields, including chemical environmental analysis. Voltammetric methods, such as anodic stripping voltammetry (ASV) competing ligand exchange-adsorptive cathodic (CLE-AdCSV), have been widely adopted different natural aquatic systems. This paper provides overview theory voltammetric their application waters, with particular focus on current discrimination labile/inert fractions, redox covalently bound species. Speciation typical waters Fe, Cu, Zn, Cd, Pb are presented discussed detail, future perspectives using also discussed. review can elaborate knowledge theory, merits, challenge waters.

Speciation of metals in natural waters

The form or speciation of a metal in natural waters can change its kinetic and thermodynamic properties. For example, Cu(II) in the free ionic form is toxic to phytoplankton, while copper complexed to organic ligands is not toxic. The form of a metal in solution can also change its solubility. For example, Fe(II) is soluble in aqueous solutions while Fe(III) is nearly insoluble. Natural organic...

Voltammetric measurement of arsenic in natural waters.

There are several U.S. EPA approved methodologies for the determination of arsenic in ground water. Such technologies are lab-based, time intensive and can lead to a large capital cost for multi-sample analysis. In light of the number of sites found to contain arsenic at levels higher than the maximum contaminant level (MCL), on-site screening and monitoring systems are an attractive alternativ...

Voltammetric Determination of Trace Concentrations of Metals in the Environment

facing the world today is the contamination of the environment by inorganic, organic, and organometallic species. One area of particular interest is the detection of heavy metals and metalloids in environmental matrices and the elucidation of their pathways through various environmental compartments (1–4). Ultimately, these toxic metals are incorporated into drinking water and various food chai...

Electrochemical methods for speciation of trace elements in marine waters. Dynamic aspects.

The contribution of electrochemical methods to the knowledge of dynamic speciation of toxic trace elements in marine waters is critically reviewed. Due to the importance of dynamic considerations in the interpretation of the electrochemical signal, the principles and recent developments of kinetic features in the interconversion of metal complex species will be presented. As dynamic electrochem...
